Committees

Conference Planning

 

The Conference Planning Committee is responsible for the organization and coordination of the training provided to members at the Annual Meeting and ACR Emerging Issues Conference. This includes topics, speaker, location and meals.

Membership


Process applications and send welcome emails to the new members and thank you emails to the renewing members (this is something we talked about doing on the last call & would like to implement).  Develop a master membership list to provide those members interested in receiving the list.

Public Relations

The primary responsibility of the Public Relations Committee is to create awareness in the Wisconsin community of mediators of ACR Wisconsin’s events and activities, thereby promoting the values and work of the organization.

Newsletter

 

The Newsletter Committee will develop and distribute a quarterly newsletter that publishes information about future ACR Wisconsin events and initiatives as well as information from Association for Conflict Resolution including future events and the ACR Update.

Collaborative Events

 

The Collaborative Events Committee is responsible for contacting other organizations with similar interests as ACR Wisconsin and coordinating events to benefit both organizations.

Public Education (Currently inactive pending board response to request.)

 

The Public Education Committee provides information and education about mediation so that the public can make informed decisions regarding utilizing mediation as a conflict resolution process. And, the committee promotes mediation as a first-rate dispute/conflict resolution process.

The committee is responsible for the ACR Wisconsin publication - Guide to Selecting a Mediator - which assists the public in their search for a mediator.

Legislative (Currently inactive pending board response to request.)

 

The Legislative Committee monitors policy development in Wisconsin and is available to advise/inform policy makers. The committee watches legislation and the Supreme Court for mediation related bills and rulings.

It is in instrumental in forming a rapid response mechanism (phone/email trees) to respond to issues as they arise and keep the ACR Wisconsin members informed of relevant legislation.

​

The committee collaborates with other State organizations on issues of importance to the ACR Wisconsin membership.
